Arne Jacobsen Bankers Table Clock, Ø: 4.3"

Alarm, snooze and a light sensor, behind the dial Jacobsen drew for Denmark's national bank.

The Bankers face was his last clock design, made around 1970 for Danmarks Nationalbank, with a fine spiral tracing the progression of time around the dial. Set on the 1939 table-clock body — bent steel legs, Bauhaus industrial — it becomes a bedside object rather than an architectural one. Three finishes. Browse the full Arne Jacobsen Clocks range. Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions

What is the spiral on the dial?
A fine line winding around the face to mark the progression of the minutes — the detail that distinguishes the Bankers dial from Jacobsen's plainer Station and City Hall faces.

Does it need to be plugged in?
No. It is a battery-powered bedside clock with alarm and snooze; the backlight runs from the same power and is triggered by a sensor on the top of the case.

Is this the same body as the other table clocks?
Yes. All the Jacobsen table clocks share the 1939 LK body — 4.7 in tall, PMMA lens, metal base — and differ only in dial and finish.

Arne Jacobsen Clocks +

Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Scandinavian modernism. His clock designs — Bankers, Station, City Hall and Roman — were originally drawn for Denmark's National Bank, Aarhus City Hall and Rødovre Town Hall in the 1930s–70s and remain in continuous production. Each piece is built around an aluminum case with mineral-glass lens. Produced under license by Rosendahl Design Group, a Certified B Corp.

Care Guide +

Wipe Arne Jacobsen clocks with a dry, lint-free cloth — never use water, glass cleaner or solvents on the aluminum case or mineral-glass lens. Replace the AA battery (table clocks) or C-cell (large wall clocks) once a year to prevent leakage. Hang wall clocks on a single secure screw and avoid mounting in direct sunlight, bathrooms or near heat sources, which can affect movement accuracy.
