Arne Jacobsen Bankers Wall Clock White/Black/Red

His last clock design, drawn around 1970 for Danmarks Nationalbank — white dial, black hands, one red sweep.

The Bankers face is the most detailed of Jacobsen's clocks: a fine spiral traces the progression of time around the dial, and the red second hand is the only color he allowed. Rosendahl Design Group produces it from the original drawings, in five diameters from 4.7 to 18.9 inches. Browse the full Arne Jacobsen Clocks range. Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions

Which building was it drawn for?
Danmarks Nationalbank, the Danish national bank in Copenhagen. It is Jacobsen's final clock design, dated around 1970–71 — he died in 1971, before the building was fully complete.

What is the spiral on the dial?
A fine line that winds around the face, marking the progression of the minutes. It is the detail that separates Bankers from Jacobsen's plainer Station and City Hall dials.

Which size works in a kitchen?
8.3 in or 11.4 in. The 4.7 in and 6.3 in sizes read better on a shelf or in a small hallway, and 18.9 in is a statement for a large open room.

Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Scandinavian modernism. Care Guide +

Wipe Arne Jacobsen clocks with a dry, lint-free cloth — never use water, glass cleaner or solvents on the aluminum case or mineral-glass lens. Replace the AA battery (table clocks) or C-cell (large wall clocks) once a year to prevent leakage. Hang wall clocks on a single secure screw and avoid mounting in direct sunlight, bathrooms or near heat sources, which can affect movement accuracy.
