Meet is a long, quiet table from Bent Hansen, built around a solid oak top that is oiled rather than lacquered, so you feel the wood and can renew the finish yourself. The legs are flat ovals of black textured-coated steel, set near the corners to keep knees clear along both sides. At 37.4 inches wide there is room for serving dishes down the middle. Oiled oak asks for a little upkeep: Bent Hansen recommends re-oiling the top two to four times a year, which is also what lets it age well.
