Primum Swivel Dining Chair with Arms - Black Leather, Black Steel Base

Primum, Latin for "first," was Bent Hansen's first dining chair, designed by the Bent Hansen studio in 2012 and tested to EN 16139 for contract use.

The chair is upholstered all over, seat, back and armrests, in black Zenso 2 leather, and it turns on a four-prong swivel base in black powder-coated steel. That makes it as comfortable at a long dinner as at a meeting table, which is why Bent Hansen had it tested to EN 16139:2013 at level L1, the European standard for seating in offices, cafés, restaurants and public spaces. Zenso 2 is a semi-aniline leather, dyed through and finished with a protective coat.

Does the base swivel?
Yes. This Primum turns on a four-prong swivel base, so you can swing out from the table without dragging the chair. It has no castors, and the seat sits 17.7 in off the floor.

Is it strong enough for an office or restaurant?
Yes. Bent Hansen tested Primum to EN 16139:2013 at level L1, the European standard for non-domestic seating in offices, cafés, restaurants, canteens and public spaces.
