Up the Wall Shelf Set - Oak-Look Laminate

Bent Hansen Studio designed Up the Wall as a shelf you build into crosses: each set is one short and one long shelf that slot together and hang on the wall.

The idea is to make shelving that looks drawn on the wall rather than bolted to it. A set gives you one 29.1-inch and one 23.6-inch shelf in oak-look laminate that slot into an asymmetric cross; combine several sets into a larger pattern or mount the shelves on their own. They are only 0.2 inches thick, so the lines stay sharp. Bent Hansen rates them for light loads, which is the trade-off for the slim profile: a few books, a plant, a small speaker.

How much weight does it hold?
Bent Hansen gives a load capacity of 11 lb (5 kg) but doesn't say whether that is per shelf or per set, so treat it as the limit for a whole cross: a few books and objects, not a full row of hardbacks.

Are wall fixings included?
Bent Hansen doesn't say, so have screws and anchors suited to your wall ready. You slot the two shelves into a cross first, then mount it, following Bent Hansen's assembly instructions.
