Ethnicraft
Solid-wood furniture from Antwerp, made to age well
Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.
- Solid wood, oiled or water-based varnished
- Serbian factory runs on wood-residue energy
- Re-Loved: refurbished for a second life
Block Rack
Angular dividers set a rhythm across nearly seven feet of open, sculptural storage.
The Block rack from Ethnicraft is crafted in Indonesia from solid mahogany, espresso-stained with a matte varnish. Its staggered compartments frame books and objects differently from every angle — place it solo against a wall or run several in sequence as a room divider.

Common Questions
Can the Block Rack be used as a room divider?
Yes. The shelving is open on both sides and finished all around, so it reads well floated in a room — alone or with multiple racks in sequence — as well as against a wall.
How much does it hold?
The rack stands 81.5 inches tall and 47 inches wide with compartments in varied proportions — sized for books, ceramics, and larger objects — and its 173-pound solid mahogany build keeps it planted.
