Crushed mother-of-pearl lacquer over spun aluminium — a finish that shifts from honey to jewel tone as the day moves.

Pierre Charrié developed Brush after immersing himself in the lacquer workshops of Hanoia in Vietnam, learning how many firings it takes before a color acquires depth. Each shade is spun from flat aluminium into a rounded oblong dome, then finished with magnetic-reactive pigments that give the surface genuine iridescence rather than flat paint. Made in Europe for Petite Friture.

Common Questions

What bulb does it take?
A standard US E26 screw base, dimmable, up to 40W. The bulb is not supplied. Small is rated to 1,500 lumens and Large to 3,000; 2700K keeps the lacquer reading warm.

Which size over a dining table?
Large, at 23.6 in across, holds a table for six to eight. Small at 13.7 in suits a kitchen island run, a bedside, or a cluster of two or three at staggered heights.

Does the finish look like flat paint?
No. The multi-stage lacquer uses magnetic-reactive pigments, so the surface has metallic depth and shifts between warm and cool tones depending on the light hitting it.
