Brush Pendant Light

Designed by Pierre Charrié — winner of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris (2015), Rising Talent at Maison&Objet (2016), and Young Designer of the Year by Elle Décoration France (2017) — the Brush Pendant Light was born in the lacquer workshops of Hanoia in Vietnam, where Charrié immersed himself in centuries-old lacquering techniques to understand how color could define an object's relationship with space. Each shade starts as a flat sheet of aluminum, shaped through an artisanal repoussage metal-spinning process into a precise, rounded oblong dome, then finished with a crushed mother-of-pearl lacquer using magnetic-reactive pigments. The multi-stage firing process produces an iridescent surface with genuine metallic depth — not a flat color, but a living finish that shifts from warm honeyed undertones in morning sunlight to cooler, jewel-like facets under evening ambient light. It's a pendant that treats color not as decoration but as architecture, channeling 1960s design language through a distinctly modern sensibility.
The dome shape produces an indirect, beautifully diffused glow — light radiates downward through the open base while the lacquered interior reflects and softens it, avoiding the harsh glare common in metal pendants. The Brush takes an E27 bulb (max 60W, 2700K warm white recommended) delivering 1,500–3,000 lumens depending on selection, and is fully dimmable. Suspended from a 3-meter white textile cable with steel circular canopy, the silhouette is clean and refined. Available in Small (Ø35 cm × H15 cm, 1.9 kg) and Large (Ø60 cm × H25 cm, 4.9 kg). IP20 rated, Insulation Class II, UL Certified. Made in Italy. In a market saturated with mass-produced lighting, the Brush represents something increasingly rare: a fixture where the finish itself is the design — every shade undergoing the same ancestral lacquering process that has defined Vietnamese craftwork for centuries, updated for a contemporary interior.
