Currant Writing Desk

Three full-width, self-closing drawers hide inside a 60-inch desk of 100% solid Moso bamboo.

The Currant Writing Desk keeps a home office honest: a clean Mid-Century silhouette on trim, tapered legs, with storage running the entire width of the desktop. Five-sided drawer boxes with English dovetail joinery come from the same Greenington workshop as the rest of the Currant collection, in three finishes.

Yes. The 60-by-24-inch top accommodates a dual-monitor setup or a large display plus laptop, with the three drawers keeping cables and supplies off the surface.

How do the drawers work?
All three drawers are self-closing, built as five-sided solid bamboo boxes with English dovetail joinery, and they span the full width of the desk for maximum storage.

Does bamboo hold up as a work surface?
Yes — Greenington's classic bamboo is about 20% harder than red oak. Use a desk pad for heavy daily writing and wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

All Greenington furniture is made of 100% natural bamboo. It is very hard, dense and extremely durable. Like any natural hardwood furniture, maintaining the humidity in a controlled environment is also very important for bamboo furniture. Keeping the relative humidity in the range of 40 to 55 percent will greatly reduce the potential for any checking or warping, allowing you to better preserve the natural beauty of the pieces.
