Donut Mug

The handle is a glazed doughnut. Everything else is Portuguese earthenware, finished in seven candy-shop colors.

Pia Chevalier designed the Donut range for Petite Friture in 2022, borrowing the sugar-glaze gloss of a pastry counter for a mug you use every morning. The enamel meets FDA CFR Title 21 limits for lead and cadmium. Medium is a standard coffee size; the larger version works for latte, tea, or as a countertop utensil crock.

Is the glaze food safe?
Yes. The enamel meets FDA CFR Title 21 limits for lead and cadmium, the US standard for ceramics in contact with food and drink.

How do the two sizes compare?
Medium is 3.5 in tall and 6.7 in across including the handle, a standard coffee mug. XL is 4.7 in tall and 8.3 in across, sized for latte, tea, or countertop storage.

Can it go in the dishwasher?
Petite Friture does not publish a dishwasher rating for the Donut range. Because each piece is glazed earthenware with a hand-finished enamel, we recommend washing by hand.
