Alain van Havre drew the Eda collection for Ethnicraft's 2026 range, rounding every edge of a solid mahogany table into one continuous curve.

The Eda coffee table from Ethnicraft comes in two footprints: a 32-inch square and a 59.5-inch rectangle, both 15.5 inches high with a fixed lower shelf for books and remotes. Van Havre, Ethnicraft's long-time design lead, softened the geometry so the top, legs and shelf flow into each other without a visible break. Ethnicraft finishes the mahogany with a PFAS-free polyurethane varnish in a rose brown that reads warmer than walnut and cooler than teak, and the timber is SVLK wood-legality certified. It arrives fully assembled on adjustable glides, and the shelf is rated for 44 pounds.

Does the Eda coffee table need assembly?
No. It ships in one carton fully assembled, with adjustable glides already fitted so you can level it on an uneven floor. Two people should carry the rectangular version, which weighs 79 pounds.

Will hot mugs or wet glasses mark the mahogany?
The polyurethane varnish resists everyday spills if you wipe them promptly, but heat and standing water can mark any wood finish. Use coasters, and dry the surface after cleaning to avoid spotting.

How much can the lower shelf hold?

For regular dusting, use a dry cloth. For cleaning or in case of a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap. Wipe in the direction of the grain. Do not use soap containing detergent or other chemicals. Dry with a soft clean cloth to prevent spotting.
