Alain van Havre designed the Eda rack for Ethnicraft's 2026 collection as open solid-mahogany shelving in two proportions: a long low unit and a 74-inch tall one.

The Eda rack from Ethnicraft is the collection's storage piece, built from the same 1-inch solid mahogany as the tables with the same rounded edges. The low rack is 83 inches wide and 28.5 high with two fixed shelves, sized for a media wall. The tall rack is 71.5 wide and 74 high with five shelves rated for 132 pounds each, so it takes a full library. Ethnicraft finishes the mahogany with a PFAS-free polyurethane varnish in a rose brown that reads warmer than walnut and cooler than teak, and the timber is SVLK wood-legality certified. Both ship assembled with anti-tip hardware and adjustable glides.

Does the Eda rack have to be fixed to the wall?
Ethnicraft ships both sizes with two sets of anti-tip hardware and we recommend fitting it, especially on the 74-inch tall rack or in a home with children. You position the brackets to suit your wall.

Is it delivered assembled?
Yes. Both racks arrive fully assembled with adjustable glides fitted. The tall rack weighs 158 pounds and ships in a 79-inch crate, so plan for two people and check door clearances.

How much weight can the shelves take?
The low rack's two shelves are rated at 44 pounds each and the unit at 289 pounds. The tall rack's five shelves take 132 pounds each and the unit 317 pounds, enough for a shelf of hardbacks end to end.

For regular dusting, use a dry cloth. For cleaning or in case of a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap. Wipe in the direction of the grain. Do not use soap containing detergent or other chemicals. Dry with a soft clean cloth to prevent spotting.
