Alain van Havre designed the Eda side table for Ethnicraft's 2026 collection as a 20-inch cube of solid mahogany with every edge rounded off.

The Eda side table from Ethnicraft is the smallest piece in the collection and the one that goes almost anywhere: 20 inches wide, 19.5 deep and 17.5 high, with a fixed lower shelf, so it works as a sofa end table, a bedside or a lamp stand. Van Havre carried the collection's continuous curves through the legs and shelf, which is what makes a small solid-wood block feel light. Ethnicraft finishes the mahogany with a PFAS-free polyurethane varnish in a rose brown that reads warmer than walnut and cooler than teak, and the timber is SVLK wood-legality certified. At 21 pounds it moves easily, and it arrives assembled on adjustable glides.

Is 17.5 inches the right height for a sofa side table?
For most sofas, yes. Seat cushions on the Ease sofa sit at 15.5 inches and its arm at 21, so the Eda top lands between the two, within easy reach of a seated person without blocking the arm.

Does it work as a bedside table?
It does, and the fixed lower shelf holds a book or a phone charger. There is no drawer, so anything you want hidden needs a box or basket on the shelf.

Does the Eda side table need assembly?
No. It ships fully assembled with adjustable glides already fitted, so you can level it on a rug or an uneven floor straight out of the carton.

For regular dusting, use a dry cloth. For cleaning or in case of a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap. Wipe in the direction of the grain. Do not use soap containing detergent or other chemicals. Dry with a soft clean cloth to prevent spotting.
