Excalibur Toilet Brush

Excalibur Toilet Brush
“High design for a humble object,” wrote The New York Times in 1995; MoMA added it to its permanent collection in 2000.
Philippe Starck planted a sword in a stone for the bathroom: the sculpted handle stands proud while the base fully conceals the nylon brush. Heller molds it from post-consumer recycled polypropylene and sells replacement brush heads, so the base and handle stay in service for years. It also sits in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Centre Pompidou.

Common Questions
Can the brush head be replaced?
Yes. Heller sells replacement brushes in sets of two, so only the nylon head is swapped out while the recycled polypropylene base and handle keep working.
Does it stand on its own?
Yes. The weighted molded base is freestanding and hides the brush completely — no wall mounting, no visible bristles, just the sword-like handle in view.
