I4 Birksø Mirror

A turned, cigar-shaped oak wedge — borrowed from FDB's most familiar chair parts — is what holds this mirror to the wall.

Designer Rebecca Uth created the Birksø for FDB Møbler, letting a detail from the cooperative's classic furniture carry a new object entirely. The nature lacquered oak frame hangs from a stretch-resistant webbing strap woven in a herringbone pattern, so the mounting is part of the design rather than hidden behind it. At Ø 19.7 inches, this is the smallest of the three sizes — right for an entryway, a bathroom, or the wall between windows.
