J149 3-Person couch - Cognac

Seventy-five inches of sofa, upholstered in cognac semi-aniline leather that records the years as deepening color.

The J149 is the full-length sofa of the 1978 spoke-back range at FDB Møbler — light and airy in build despite seating three, with a nature lacquered oak frame. The cognac semi-aniline hide is lightly finished, so grain, markings, and eventually patina all stay on view.

Materials

Nature lacquered oak frame; cognac semi-aniline leather upholstery

Dimensions

74.6 in W x 28.1 in D x 31.5 in H; 72.1 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Care

Dust with a soft, dry cloth; blot spills; condition occasionally

Common Questions

Will the cognac leather darken over time?
Yes — semi-aniline cognac leather develops a deeper tone and gentle sheen where it is used most; keeping the sofa out of harsh direct sun lets the patina build evenly.

Will a 74.6-inch sofa get into my apartment?
Plan the route using its other dimensions — 28.1 in deep and 31.5 in tall — since long sofas are carried on end through doors and stairwells; the spoke-back frame is also relatively light at 72.1 lbs.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
