Fermob builds steel and aluminum furniture in its own workshops in Thoissey, France. Its folding Bistro chair is a design from 1889.
- Best for: balconies (the Bistro chair folds to about 4 inches thick), café dining and color: 25 shades.
- Care: soapy water, touch-up paint for chips, and dry winter storage rather than a tarp.
- Warranty: 2–3 years on the structure and 1–2 on the finish, by metal.

Isimar: recycled aluminum from Navarra
Isimar has made outdoor furniture in Navarra, Spain, since 1964, in its own factory. It says its aluminum and steel are 100% recycled.

Cane-line has designed outdoor furniture in Denmark since 1987 and makes it in its own Indonesian facilities, in hand-woven Cane-line Weave, aluminum and teak.

Resol: molded chairs, made in Spain
Resol designs and makes its furniture in-house in Les Preses, near Girona. Its chairs are molded polypropylene with fiberglass; the Toledo Aire is 100% post-consumer recycled.

What makes high-end outdoor furniture worth the price?
For durable, weatherproof outdoor furniture from any brand, check four things:
