J166 Jørna Chair - Cognac

Few Danish armchairs come with a love story; Poul Volther named this one after his wife, Jørna.

He shaped the J166 around how she relaxed — knitting, long needles and all — and today it holds a laptop or a Sunday paper just as easily. This version from FDB Møbler sets cognac Denver semi-aniline leather against a jet-black painted oak frame, a warm-against-dark contrast.

Materials

Oak frame, painted jet black; upholstered in Denver semi-aniline leather, Cognac

Common Questions

How much space does the Jørna need?
About 30.1 inches of width and 29.7 inches of depth — compact enough for a reading corner or bedroom while still sitting like a full armchair.

Will cognac leather change color over time?
Yes, gracefully. Semi-aniline Denver leather deepens and gains character with use while its light surface treatment guards against everyday marks.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
