J166 Jørna Chair - Red

Red check on near-black oak — the boldest, most cabin-hearted reading of Volther's armchair for Jørna.

The J166 from FDB Møbler — designed by Poul Volther for his wife, knitting needles accounted for — here pairs Horse Cloth 'Red Diced' (14) upholstery with a smoked, oiled oak frame. The dark grain sharpens the red check into something graphic.

Oak frame, smoked and oiled; upholstered in Horse Cloth, Red Diced (14)

Common Questions

Is this the loudest Jørna colorway?
Close — the red diced check is the series' most patterned fabric, but the smoked oak frame absorbs some of its energy, so it lands bold rather than busy.

How compact is the J166 really?
30.1 inches wide, 29.7 deep, 34.1 tall, 19.4 pounds — an armchair that fits reading corners, bedrooms, and small apartments without visual bulk.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
