J181 Sønderup Step Stool
One honest step of solid oiled oak, built by a designer who believes utility deserves beauty too.
Chastine Lavoie's J181 Sønderup step stool for FDB Møbler is the single-step sibling of the two-step J180 — a low, sturdy boost for kitchen shelves, bathroom sinks, and small children's independence, handsome enough to live in plain sight.

Common Questions
What is the J181 best used for?
Everyday boosts: reaching a middle shelf, helping kids at the sink, or serving as a low plant riser. For upper cabinets, the taller two-step J180 is the better tool.
Is it light enough to carry around the house?
Yes — at 4.6 pounds and 13.2 inches wide, it moves room to room in one hand, and the oiled solid oak stands up to daily knocks.
