J52B Chair - Pure White

White staves, Windsor comfort, Danish restraint — Mogensen's 1952 J52B at its freshest.

For FDB Møbler, Børge Mogensen re-drew the English Windsor chair with a lighter range of simple staves — a chair comfortable enough that it reportedly became President Kennedy's favorite for relaxing. Here in beech painted Pure White (RAL 9010), water-based.

Common Questions

Does white suit a Windsor-style chair?
Beautifully — white staves emphasize the airy, drawn-line quality Mogensen was after, turning a historic form into something coastal and light.

Dining chair, lounge chair, or both?
Both by design: it serves at the table and stands alone in a bedroom or by a window, the dual role Mogensen built into the 1952 original.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
