Fermob builds its chairs and tables in its own factories in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, from steel and aluminium sourced mainly in Europe. Every piece gets Fermob's own anti-UV powder coat, which keeps its colour outdoors without heavy metals or VOCs.

Fermob Sixties Chair
Braided outdoor fiber softens a 1960s silhouette — technical enough for salt air, warm enough to read as handmade.
Frédéric Sofia shaped the Sixties chair after the French garden furniture of that decade: a tubular aluminum frame wrapped in braided polyethylene outdoor fiber that flexes with the body and dries fast after rain. It is built at Fermob's Thoissey factory with a cataphoresis-treated, UV-stable powder coat.

Common Questions
Is the woven seat really outdoor-proof?
Yes — the braided polyethylene fiber is UV-stable, tolerates salt spray, and dries within minutes of a shower. Rinse it with mild soapy water occasionally and it keeps its color and tension.
Do I need a cushion?
No — the braided fiber has natural give, so the chair is comfortable through a long meal as-is. A seat pad is purely a styling choice.
