Fermob Sixties Low Armchair

Designed by Frédéric Sofia — the Marseille-based designer behind Fermob's contemporary catalog including the Bebop, Cadiz, and broader Sixties collection — the Sixties Low Armchair scales the collection up into a lounge-height seat with generous proportions and a cocooning silhouette. The tubular aluminium frame is paired with a woven polyethylene outdoor fibre seat that wraps the body comfortably without a cushion, though the form takes a loose throw or seat pad well if extra padding is wanted. The lower seat height and reclined back angle change the use case from "dining chair" to "lounge chair" — this is a piece for the second cup of coffee, not the first course of dinner. The fibre weave reads as soft and tactile but is technical underneath: UV-stable, salt-spray-tolerant, and dries quickly after rain.
Manufactured at Fermob's factory in Thoissey, France, finished in cataphoresis-treated, UV-stable powder coat available across Fermob's 24+ color range. Available at Comosum in Cotton White, Red Ochre, Liquorice, and Maya Blue — the latter colorway exclusive to the Sixties Low Armchair within Fermob's outdoor catalog. The aluminium frame keeps the piece light enough to move single-handed; weather-resistant year-round; backed by Fermob's 5-year warranty against rust-through and powder coat failure. TSCA Title VI and California Prop 65 compliant. Equally at home on a residential terrace, around a fire pit, or as the lounge anchor in an outdoor seating arrangement paired with the Sixties Bench and Low Table. The lower seat height also makes it a workable indoor lounge piece for sunrooms and four-season porches — Fermob's outdoor-rated finishes weather indoor air just as well as outdoor humidity. The fibre weave provides enough back support for a long afternoon without an extra cushion, though a 16-inch pad in contrasting fabric is a common styling choice for buyers who want a softer aesthetic alongside the technical material.
