Max Mugs (Set of 6)
The Max mug belongs to the stacking dinnerware Massimo and Lella Vignelli designed in 1964, the range that won the Compasso d'Oro that year.
MoMA keeps the Max dinnerware in its permanent design collection. When the original Milan maker closed, Alan Heller brought it back, and it became the first product of Heller in 1971. The mugs taper so six nest into one short tower, and a small ridge inside the rim helps stop drips. They are polystyrene: light, hard to break and good for outdoor coffee. Polystyrene is rarely recycled in practice, so their case is longevity, a set kept for decades. It's what we use at home.

Common Questions
Can the mugs go in the microwave?
No. Keep them out of the microwave; they are top-rack dishwasher safe.
Do they really stack?
Yes. The tapered shape lets six mugs nest into one short tower, and a small ridge inside the rim helps stop drips.
What is the Rainbow option?
Rainbow is a mixed set in several colors from the range, so the stack is multicolored; every other option is the full set in one color.
