Unusual enough in 1970 to raise eyebrows, Per Lütken's profile now looks like it was drawn last year.

Lütken led design at Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998, and No. 5 is one of the shapes that outlived its decade. Each glass is mouth-blown, across beer, aquavit, and two long-drink sizes, and is dishwasher safe up to 130°F. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Holmegaard's creative director from 1942 until 1998 — fifty-six years drawing the line of Denmark's oldest glassworks. No. 5, from 1970, is one of his enduring everyday designs.

Are the glasses mouth-blown or molded?
Mouth-blown. A glassblower shapes each one, so wall thickness and the exact curve of the profile vary slightly from glass to glass within a set.

Can they go in the dishwasher?
Yes, up to 130°F. Keep the cycle temperature low — heat, not detergent, is what eventually clouds mouth-blown glass.
