Knabstrup Flowerpot - Rose

Knabstrup began making clay flowerpots in 1897, and this glazed terracotta pot is a reissue of a design the Danish pottery first produced in the 1970s.

Flowerpots are where Knabstrup started, and by 1911 the company was Scandinavia's largest producer. This one is glazed terracotta in rose, with a glaze that varies slightly from pot to pot. It comes in 3 sizes. Its Danish name, urtepotteskjuler, means a cover pot: the decorative outer pot you slip a plant into, still in its plastic nursery pot, so you can water and drain it at the sink.

Common Questions

Does it have a drainage hole?
Knabstrup doesn't say, and its Danish name for this pot means a cover pot, the kind you slip a nursery pot into. Use it that way, with the plant in its own pot inside, and empty any standing water after watering.

Can it go outside?
Knabstrup gives no outdoor or frost rating, so keep it indoors. Glazed ceramics can crack if water trapped in them freezes, so an indoor windowsill or shelf is the safer home for it.

Can I return it?
No. The Knabstrup flowerpot is final sale and can't be returned or exchanged, so please check the sizes first. Report any breakage in transit within 48 hours of delivery.
