Knabstrup
Danish ceramics since 1897, reissued from the archive
Knabstrup began making clay flowerpots in Denmark in 1897, and by 1911 it was Scandinavia's largest flowerpot producer. The brand relaunched in 2017 with reissues of its archive designs, including its late-1940s vase, and its vases and pots are now made in Portugal.

Knabstrup Utensil Holder - Dusty Blue
Knabstrup drew this utensil holder from one of its own pickle jars from 1914, in high-fired terracotta with a reactive glaze.
It is a kitchen piece with a long memory: Knabstrup took the shape of a 1914 pickle jar and sized it for spatulas, spoons and whisks by the stove. The terracotta is high-fired and finished in dusty blue, a reactive glaze that varies a little from piece to piece, so yours won't match the photo exactly. Keep it by the hob for the tools you reach for every day; it pairs with Knabstrup's flowerpots in the same glazes.
