Kuppi Sconce

Mika Tolvanen named this adjustable wall light after the Finnish word for cup — the humble form it borrows twice.

Two differently sized painted-metal cups nest into a sculptural sconce whose shade rotates a full 280 degrees, steering light exactly where you read. First drawn in 2014 and since refined as the 2.0 version, it brings Finnish pragmatism to the WOUD lighting collection.

Common Questions

Can you aim the Kuppi's light?
Yes. The shade rotates 280 degrees around its axis, so one fixture covers focused bedside reading or a softer wash against the wall. The removable matte acrylic diffuser keeps the light even.

Does the Kuppi Sconce require hardwiring?
No — it mounts to the wall and connects through an 83 in fabric-covered cord, so you can place it beside a bed or reading chair without opening the wall for an electrician.
