Liuku Pendant with Shade

Hand-blown glass wraps Maija Puoskari's linden-wood pendant in a second, softer layer of light.

The glass shade — transparent or smoked, hand-blown in the Czech Republic — hangs beneath a solid linden body turned as a Ball or a Drop and finished in matt lacquer or black stain. Mater, the Copenhagen design house founded in 2006, builds it on a textile-covered cord with a GU10 socket rated to 4 watts. It is the fuller-figured sibling of the bare Liuku base in our Mater collection, and Mater supports owner repair rather than replacement.

Common Questions

Should I choose transparent or smoke glass?
Transparent gives brighter, sparkling light and shows the bulb. Smoke damps the output into a warmer, moodier glow. Both pair with either the natural or the black-stained linden body.

What bulb does it take, and is it included?
A GU10 cap rated to a maximum 4 watts, LED recommended, and the bulb is not included. The textile-covered cord is 78 inches and the fitting is CE approved and UL certified.

Is the glass hand-blown?
Yes. Mater's product sheet lists hand-blown glass in transparent or smoked, produced in the Czech Republic, so small variations between shades are part of the process rather than a fault.
