Sand-cast by hand in a small workshop in northern India, from a raw material Mater states is 70 percent aluminum waste.

This is Space Copenhagen's stool recast in metal. The turned wooden profile Mater calls a New Danish Classic is reproduced in partly recycled aluminum, polished to a soft shine and finished with a genuine black leather seat. Sand casting is an old, low-plant technique, and it suits a piece built out of scrap. Three heights share one footprint, which is why the low stool, the counter stool and the bar stool sit on a single page in our Mater collection.

Which height should I choose?
The 18.5-inch Low Stool works as seating, a footrest or a side table. The 27.2-inch High Stool suits 36-inch kitchen counters, and the 29.1-inch version suits bar tables of 40 inches and up.

Is the seat upholstered?
Yes. Every height is finished with a genuine black leather seat on the cast aluminum frame, so the metal is never what you sit on. Condition the leather occasionally to keep it supple.
