Lucent Large Side Table

The Lucent Large Side Table by Matthew Hilton scales up the collection’s signature glass-on-glass construction without losing its delicate, architectural feel. Hilton — whose work spans three decades and is held by the V&A and Museum of the Home, alongside long-running collaborations with SCP and De La Espada — designed the Lucent collection around a single structural insight: tempered glass joined at right angles using UV-bonding technology can carry weight and layer depth at the same time. The taller, deeper proportions of the Large Side Table make it equally comfortable beside a sofa or as a small reading-corner surface. Curved-edge top and base panels soften the silhouette and remove the sharp visual cuts of conventional glass tables. Manufactured in Lithuania at the same family-run glassworks that produces the rest of the Lucent range — each panel hand-finished and pressure-tested before assembly.
Available in Bronze Glass, Clear Glass, or Smoke Glass, all in tempered glass with UV-bonded joins. The taller proportions and integrated storage compartment make this the workhorse Lucent piece: the structural partition created by the perpendicular meeting of the panels holds books, magazines, vinyl, or larger sculptural objects — things a smaller side table simply can’t accommodate without looking overstuffed. Ships fully assembled, no flat-pack required, and is heavy enough to stay put in a busy living room without anchoring or feet pads. Tempered glass meets TSCA Title VI and California Prop 65 standards. For rooms that need a side table to do real work — surface plus storage plus visual lightness — Lucent’s transparency lets it slot in without crowding the seating arrangement, and the integrated shelf turns a side table into a small display piece for the books and objects that earn their place in a living room.
