Lyngby Porcelain Rhombe Mug

A rhombus relief drawn for Lyngby's oven-proof Danild range of 1961 now wraps chalk-white porcelain made for daily coffee.

Lyngby Porcelæn — founded outside Copenhagen in 1936 and best known for the fluted Lyngby Vase — revived the archive pattern as the Rhombe series, and these drinking pieces joined in 2020. Each is glazed porcelain made in Portugal, from an 8.1 oz tea cup with saucer to an 11.2 oz mug. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions

Is the Rhombe mug dishwasher safe?
Yes. Lyngby Porcelæn lists Rhombe porcelain as dishwasher safe, so mugs, cups, and saucers can go through a normal cycle without dulling the relief pattern.

Where does the Rhombe pattern come from?
From Lyngby Porcelæn's own archives — the diamond motif traces to the oven-proof Danild range of 1961 and returns here as a raised relief on white porcelain.

Do the tea cups come with saucers?
Yes. Both tea cup sizes, 8.1 oz and 13.2 oz, include a matching porcelain saucer; the mug and the two-piece handled mug set are sold without saucers.

Care Guide +

Kähler and Bjørn Wiinblad ceramics are wiped with a soft, damp cloth — most decorative pieces are not dishwasher-safe due to hand-applied glazes and decoration. Do not soak. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Hand-painted details should never go in the microwave. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve color depth, and store upright with felt pads between stacked pieces.
