Mediterranea Table Lamp

Designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance — born in 1974 in the south of France, son of a sculptor, trained in metal sculpture at ENSAAMA and furniture design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris — the Mediterranea collection draws from the image of white linen sheets billowing on Mediterranean balconies. Introduced in 2015, a single sheet of satin-brushed brass is perforated with a geometric pattern and shaped to hang like draped fabric, simultaneously sculpting and diffusing light. The perforations are not merely decorative: they control precisely how light passes through the shade, projecting warm, graphic shadow patterns onto walls and ceilings that transform any room into something closer to a warm coastal evening. Duchaufour-Lawrance — whose career breakthrough came designing the Sketch restaurant interiors in London (Time Out Best Design Award, 2002), and who has since collaborated with Hermès, Baccarat, Saint Louis, and Ligne Roset — describes himself as a slow designer: deliberate immersion in materials and context before a single line is drawn. His awards include the Elle Decoration International Design Prize (2009), Wallpaper* Design Award (2009), and Red Dot Prize for Best Product (2011).
Brass naturally produces a golden, light-enriching reflection — warmer than chrome, softer than polished nickel, and more complex than painted metal — and over time develops a subtle patina that many collectors prefer for its vintage character. The integrated LED delivers 2700K warm white light, the color temperature closest to candlelight, with high color rendering for faithful representation of surrounding surfaces. Pendant models feature 9W LEDs delivering 936 lumens (small) to 1,620 lumens (large), fully dimmable. The table lamp and floor lamp use calibrated lower-wattage LEDs with foot-switch control for intimate accent lighting. The entire collection is designed without glue for easier end-of-life recycling and produced in France in partnership with local craftsmen. IP20 rated, CE and UL Certified. What separates the Mediterranea from the thousands of brass lights on the market is its ability to transform ambient atmosphere — the perforated shade creates a room-within-a-room effect while the satin-brushed finish enriches the color of the light itself.
