Ocean OC2 Lounge Chair

Reclined a few degrees more than its dining sibling, this 1955 Ditzel lounger is cast from recycled plastic waste.

The OC2 Lounge Chair extends Mater's second-generation Ocean material story — launched with plastic reclaimed from Carlsberg's discarded beer kegs — to Jørgen and Nanna Ditzel's low outdoor lounge profile. The slatted seat rides on a partly recycled steel frame in gunmetal, made and tested for outdoor use and designed for disassembly so each part can be recycled again.

Yes — the reclined angle and shaped slats were drawn for lounging as-is. An outdoor cushion adds softness but is not required, and the slats dry quickly after rain.

How should I store it over winter?
It can stay out — the collection is made and tested for outdoor use — but stacking the chairs in a dry space over freezing months keeps finishes fresher.
