Orb Pouf

Ethnicraft added the Orb pouf to its 2026 collection as a 36-inch pebble of full-aniline nubuck leather, low enough to double as a coffee table under a tray.

The Orb from Ethnicraft is a large, soft disc: 36 inches across and 12 inches high, with a standard-density foam core on a plywood base. Ethnicraft covers it in Fawn nubuck, a full-aniline leather dyed through without a pigment topcoat, which is why the surface is matte, warm to the touch and shows the natural markings of the hide. It works as extra seating, a footrest for a sofa, or a coffee-table stand-in with a tray on top. The leather is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and the whole piece meets California TB 117-2013.

Common Questions

Will the nubuck leather mark?
Yes, that is the nature of full-aniline nubuck. It has no protective pigment coat, so it absorbs oils and water more readily than coated leather and develops a patina. Blot spills straight away and keep it out of direct sun.

Can I use the Orb as a coffee table?
With a tray, yes. The top is a soft 30 kg/m³ foam, so a rigid tray such as Ethnicraft's Second Nature tray gives you a stable surface for drinks at 12 inches high.

Is 12 inches high enough to sit on?
It is a low seat, closer to floor-cushion height than a stool. It suits children, feet up from a sofa with a 15-to-16-inch seat, or perching at a low table; Ethnicraft rates it for 298 pounds.

Full-aniline nubuck is left close to its natural state, so it marks more readily than coated leather and develops a patina. Wipe regularly with a clean, dry cloth and keep out of direct sunlight. Blot spills at once with a clean, dry, white cloth; do not rub. For a stain, blot from the outer edge inward with a slightly damp white cloth, then dry evenly with a towel, never a hairdryer. No chemicals or leather-care kits made for coated leather; do not wash or dry clean.
