Ethnicraft
Solid-wood furniture from Antwerp, made to age well
Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.
- Solid wood, oiled or water-based varnished
- Serbian factory runs on wood-residue energy
- Re-Loved: refurbished for a second life
Osso Stool
One of Ethnicraft's most-loved designs earns its keep everywhere: dining table, hallway, beside the sofa.
The Osso Stool from Ethnicraft is made from solid oak with a hardwax oil finish or brown-tainted solid teak with a varnish finish, its sculpted legs and softly shaped seat giving a simple stool real presence. The 18-inch seat height suits dining tables, and the same design is offered in counter and bar heights.
Materials
Solid oak with a hardwax oil finish, or brown-tainted FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified solid teak with a varnish finish

19.5" W × 13" D × 19.5" H; seat height 18"

Serbia (oak) / Indonesia (teak)
Collection
Osso, also in counter and bar heights; leather-cushioned version available
Common Questions
What heights does the Osso come in?
Three: this dining-height stool with an 18-inch seat, a counter stool at 26 inches, and a bar stool at 30.5 inches — so the same design can run through a whole home.
How do I care for the oiled oak?
Dust with a dry cloth. For spills, wipe with a damp cloth and natural soap in the direction of the grain, then dry — avoid detergents and chemical cleaners.
Can it double as a side table?
Yes — at 19.5 inches tall with a flat sculpted seat, it works beside a sofa or bed as an occasional table, one reason the design has become an Ethnicraft staple.
