Pine Planter

A hidden reservoir in the base catches whatever the roots did not want, then tips out over the sink.

That reservoir is the whole idea behind the Pine: excess water drains away from the soil instead of pooling around the roots, and emptying it takes one tilt. Conifer 3D-prints the planter to order at its East Vancouver studio from a matte plant-based composite, light enough to lift while watering, and sends its production scrap on to the Alberni Makerspace. Plants can be transplanted or left in their nursery pots — more in the Conifer Homewares collection.

Common Questions

How does the reservoir work?
Water that drains through the soil collects in a concealed well in the base rather than sitting against the roots. Tilt the planter over a sink to pour the excess out — no saucer, no ring on the shelf.

What do the size numbers refer to?
The top inner diameter. A 4 in Pine takes a plant in a 4 in nursery pot, so match the number to the pot your plant arrived in rather than to the plant itself.
