Magnets hold the oak globe inside this steel shade, so the beam can be aimed wherever light is needed.
Danish studio PEDERJESSEN paired the steel outer shell with an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)-certified oak inner globe in an oiled finish, hung from a textile-covered cord in two sizes. It brings directional, functional light to the pendants in our Mater collection.

How does the adjustable light direction work?
The wooden inner globe mounts with magnets, so you rotate it by hand to point the beam — straight down over a counter, angled at artwork, or sideways for a soft wall wash.
What bulb does the Ray Pendant use?
A GU9 socket rated for a maximum 5W LED, sold separately. The compact bulb sits inside the oak globe, which shapes the light into a single directed beam.
