London-designed furniture by Royal Designers for Industry
Paul Newman founded Case in 2005. Matthew Hilton and Terence Woodgate, both Royal Designers for Industry, have designed for it since the first collection, and it reissues Robin Day's 1964 Forum sofa with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.

Soft Table Lamp
Granite below, hand-blown opal glass above — Terence Woodgate's table lamp glows rather than glares.
The Soft Table Light carries the same gently curving conical shade as its floor-standing sibling in the Case Furniture lighting range, scaled to 22.8 inches for sideboards, desks, and nightstands. A touch rod on the stem steps brightness through three levels; electronics and stone components are responsibly manufactured in China to Case's quality standards.

Is it good as a bedside lamp?
Yes — the three-stage touch dimmer (30%, 80%, 100%) means late-night light at a low level without fumbling for a switch, and the opal glass keeps the glow soft on the eyes.
Does it come with a bulb?
It takes a standard E27 LED up to 21 W; use a dimmable bulb so the touch control's three stages work as designed.
Is the base stable?
Very — the base is solid polished granite, which anchors the lamp firmly on desks and nightstands despite the delicate look of the glass shade.
