Paul Newman founded Case in 2005. Matthew Hilton and Terence Woodgate, both Royal Designers for Industry, have designed for it since the first collection, and it reissues Robin Day's 1964 Forum sofa with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.

The smallest table in Matthew Hilton's Solas series for Case Furniture is sized for balconies, small patios, and café-style corners. Its slatted solid teak top and stainless steel base take the weather in stride, so it can hold breakfast, a laptop, or evening drinks without being babied.

How many people does it seat?
Two, comfortably — it is a true café table. Pair it with two Solas Armchairs or Side Chairs for a compact outdoor breakfast spot on a balcony or terrace.
Will it survive a small uncovered balcony?
Yes. Teak and stainless steel are both suited to permanent outdoor exposure, including rain and direct sun. The teak will gradually silver; a seasonal wash keeps it in good shape.
Does it arrive assembled?
No — simple assembly is required, with instructions included. The compact parts also make it easier to carry through an apartment to a balcony than a fully built table.
