Paul Newman founded Case in 2005. Matthew Hilton and Terence Woodgate, both Royal Designers for Industry, have designed for it since the first collection, and it reissues Robin Day's 1964 Forum sofa with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.

Solas Rectangular Table

Seventy-six inches of solid teak and stainless steel anchor the gathering end of Matthew Hilton's Solas series.

Built from the same marine-grade pairing as the rest of the Case Furniture Solas outdoor range, the rectangular table seats a full dinner party and stays outside all year. Weather-resistant slats and a rigid stainless frame keep it flat, stable, and presentable season after season.

Common Questions

How many people does it seat?
Six comfortably — three per side — and eight with a chair at each end. The 38.6-inch depth leaves generous room for shared dishes down the middle.

Do I need to cover it in bad weather?
No. Teak and stainless steel are chosen specifically for uncovered outdoor use. A cover simply slows the natural silvering of the wood if you want to preserve the golden tone.

Is assembly difficult?
No — assembly is required and instructions are included; a second pair of hands helps given the table's size. Once assembled it is designed to stay in place.

Natural timber is affected by sunlight; this can can the wood colour to darken. It is recommended that no abrasive cleaners or solvents are used to clean the unit.
