Ethnicraft

Solid-wood furniture from Antwerp, made to age well

Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.

  • Solid wood, oiled or water-based varnished
  • Serbian factory runs on wood-residue energy
  • Re-Loved: refurbished for a second life

Spindle Bedside Table

One drawer, an open shelf, and a glass top — the no-nonsense companion the Spindle bed asked for.

The Spindle Bedside Table from Ethnicraft is made in Serbia from solid oak with a hardwax oil finish or varnished black, topped with protective glass. Slightly tapered legs echo the Spindle bed's soft geometry, and a reclaimed teak edition is offered in the same silhouette.

Common Questions

Why does it have a glass top?
The inset glass protects the wood from water glasses, lamps, and phone-charging clutter — daily wear lands on glass, not wood.

Does it only pair with the Spindle bed?
No — its 20.5-inch height and simple lines suit most bed frames, though it is drawn from the same design language as the Spindle collection.

How do I care for it?
Wipe the glass with a soft cloth, dust the wood, and treat spills promptly along the grain — refresh the hardwax oil occasionally on the oiled version.

Care Guide +

For regular dusting, use a dry cloth. For cleaning or in case of a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap. Wipe in the direction of the grain. Do not use soap containing detergent or other chemicals. Dry with a soft clean cloth to prevent spotting.

We always recommend protecting surfaces with coasters, mousepads or placemats, as extreme and repetitive daily use or heat can damage the finish.
