Kristine Five Melvær drew Strå in rich green tones that hold their calm at a working doorstep. Heymat weaves the 0.4 in pile from 100% recycled PET over an SBR rubber backing with 20% recycled content — rough enough to scrape grit, dense enough to stop moisture reaching the floor, and non-slip so the mat stays put. Can the Strå doormat be machine washed?
No. Heymat cleans its all-weather mats by vacuuming or shaking, then rinsing with water, using a mild detergent on stubborn spots. The 140°F machine wash applies only to the brand's indoor mats.

Can Strå stay outside year-round?
Yes. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use: the 0.4 in recycled PET surface scrapes grit from shoes and the SBR rubber backing blocks moisture through rain, snow and freeze-thaw cycles.
