The SSD Wood Bar Chair takes the studio's signature Simple, Strong, Durable dining chair and extends it to counter height — same powder-coated steel frame, same FSC/PEFC-certified European oak (PEFC/07-31-60) seat and back, designed for kitchen islands, bar counters and high tables in restaurant projects. Designed by the Tiptoe design studio in Paris and produced in Lithuania, the chair uses Tiptoe's modular frame system: it assembles in about two minutes with an Allen key, stacks for storage, and demounts at end of life so the oak and steel can be recycled separately. Tiptoe is a Certified B Corp (2021) and counts Hermès, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Orsay among its commercial clients — a useful signal for anyone specifying for hospitality or contract use. The visual language is the same as the dining version, just taller: clean steel legs, a thin oak seat-and-back shell, and a tight color palette.
