The SSDr Bar Chair is the counter-height version of Tiptoe's recycled-plastic SSDr dining chair — same powder-coated steel frame, same molded recycled polypropylene seat and back, scaled up for kitchen islands and bar counters in the 35-37 inch range. Designed by the Tiptoe design studio in Paris and produced in Lithuania, the chair uses Tiptoe's signature modular frame system: assembles in about two minutes with an Allen key, stacks for storage, and demounts at end of life so the polypropylene and steel can be recycled separately. Tiptoe is a Certified B Corp (2021) and works with roughly 20 European manufacturing partners; recycled-plastic components are produced in partner facilities across Belgium, France, the UK and the Netherlands. Polypropylene was chosen because it accepts pigment well, resists impact in hard-wear settings, and is widely recyclable at end of life — the conditions that let a bar chair live a long contract life rather than getting tossed at the first chip.
