Tiptoe UNIT Modular Shelf

The UNIT Modular Shelf is Tiptoe's flagship storage system — a tall steel-frame bookcase built around a few precision components that clip together for fast assembly and equally fast disassembly. Designed by the Tiptoe design studio in Paris and produced in Europe, UNIT pairs a powder-coated steel frame with FSC-certified wooden shelves that drop onto integrated positioning pins — no screws for the shelves themselves. The structure is reinforced with steel support bands between each frame and ships flat-packed to minimize transport emissions. The same modular language extends across the system: bent steel handles, adjustable feet for uneven floors, cable holes through door cabinets, and elegant 10 cm extension legs for fine-tuning the lower-shelf height. Tiptoe is a Certified B Corp (2021) and emphasizes design-for-disassembly — UNIT is built to be repaired, reconfigured, and ultimately recycled by material stream.

Two widths (84 cm and 164 cm) and two heights (180 cm and 215 cm), with optional door cabinets that convert open shelving into closed storage. Each shelf supports up to 30 kg evenly distributed. Frame is powder-coated steel; shelves are FSC-certified wood. Default finish is Graphite Black; Cream White is also available on request. Shelves over 110 cm tall should be wall-anchored — mounting brackets are included, screws and plugs are not (substrate dependent). Assembly takes one to two people and an Allen key; doors and drawers need a Phillips screwdriver. Care: dust with a soft cloth; clean steel and wood with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Available for backorder with a 6-10 week dispatch from Tiptoe's European factories.
