One folded steel arm, sold on its own, so the shelf board can be reclaimed timber or a local offcut.

Tiptoe's Paris studio has been refining this kind of modular hardware since 2015: a precision-folded steel and aluminium part, powder-coated in a tight palette, designed to be unscrewed and reused rather than binned. Each bracket carries up to 15.4 lbs including the board and is fitted in pairs; screws and wall plugs are not supplied, since the right fixing depends on your wall. Ready-made oak shelf sets are in the Tiptoe collection.

Common Questions

Are screws included?
No. Tiptoe supplies the bracket alone. You need three screws and wall plugs per bracket, chosen for your wall type; the mounting holes are 5 mm, so use screws 4 to 4.5 mm in diameter.

How much weight will a pair hold?
Tiptoe rates each bracket at 15.4 lbs including the shelf board, so 30.9 lbs for a pair, on a wall anchored with fixings suited to its construction.

What board should I use?
Any flat timber board you like — reclaimed plank, a cut-to-length oak shelf, or a mill offcut. Tiptoe also sells a matched PEFC/FSC-certified solid oak board as a complete set.
