Type 80 W2 Wall Light
Sir Kenneth Grange, the industrial designer behind Britain's InterCity 125 train, added the W2 to his Type 80 wall-light family for Anglepoise in 2021.
Anglepoise calls the W2 the middle child of the Type 80 wall lights: the series' aluminum shade, with its halo of escaping light, on a steel arm jointed at both the wall plate and the shade. Aim it at a desk as a task light or at the wall for mood lighting. Like every new Anglepoise lamp, it is guaranteed for life once registered.

Is the W2 hardwired or plug-in?
Hardwired. The US W2 mounts over a standard junction box with the supplied mounting kit, so plan on a licensed electrician. A switch on the shade turns it on and off.
Is a bulb included, and what type does it take?
Yes. It ships with a compatible LED bulb, and the E26 lamp holder takes standard screw-in LED bulbs up to 10 watts, so replacements are easy to find.
How far does it reach from the wall?
The shade sits up to 13 inches (33 cm) from the wall, and joints at the wall plate and the shade let you raise, lower and angle it, from desk task light to soft wall wash.
