Unda Dining Table

Studio Segers designed the Unda dining table for Ethnicraft's 2026 collection: a 71-inch round of solid French oak, finished in hardwax oil rather than varnish.

The Unda dining table from Ethnicraft is the table the Unda dining chair was drawn for. The top is solid laminated European oak (Quercus robur) from France, oiled with a pigmented hardwax that lets the grain show and can be refreshed at home. The four rounded legs sit 38 inches apart in both directions, so six chairs pull in without anyone straddling a leg. It ships in two cartons for self-assembly, with hardware and felt floor pads included.

Common Questions

How many people does the Unda dining table seat?
Ethnicraft rates it for six, with 38 inches between the legs in both directions so nobody sits against one. The Unda dining chair is 18 inches wide, so six of them fit with elbow room to spare.

Does it need assembly?
Yes, self-assembly. The top and the base ship in two cartons; you bolt the four legs to the top with the supplied hardware and fit the felt pads. The top alone is heavy, so plan for two people.

How is an oiled oak top different from a varnished one?
The hardwax oil sits in the wood rather than on it, so the surface feels like timber and small scratches or stains can be sanded and re-oiled at home with Osmo Hardwax Oil. It also means spills should be wiped promptly and placemats used.

Ethnicraft +

Ethnicraft is a renowned furniture brand that has been delivering quality, design, and sustainability for over 25 years. Established in Antwerp by two friends, Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse, Ethnicraft has expanded from importing Indonesian furniture to producing its own unique collections.

Sustainability is at the heart of Ethnicraft's ethos, guiding every step of its manufacturing process. The brand uses responsibly sourced wood, ensuring it comes from FSC-certified and SLVK-compliant forests, promoting the use of renewable materials. The focus on a circular approach is evident through initiatives like Live Light and Re-Loved, which refurbish and extend the lifespan of Ethnicraft products, reducing waste and offering furniture a second life.

Ethnicraft also actively reduces its carbon footprint. The Serbian manufacturing site uses wood residue for energy, while the Belgian headquarters are powered by solar energy, demonstrating a commitment to green energy and lower emissions. Waste reduction is integral to the brand, with leftover wood and sawdust being reused or repurposed to minimize environmental impact.

Through these sustainable practices, Ethnicraft creates high-quality furniture and accessories that blend form and function, with timeless designs that age beautifully. This commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship makes Ethnicraft a brand that not only enhances your home but also respects the planet.
