Zen Lounge Chair
Flexible bamboo slats, grouped in fours, bend under weight instead of resisting it.
The Zen lounge chair gets its comfort from construction rather than cushions: solid bamboo slats give slightly to meet the sitter's back. Greenington hand-finishes the frame in Black Walnut and leaves the slats and dowels in a lighter Wheat tone, so the joinery reads as a pattern rather than hardware. Common Questions
Does the Zen chair need a cushion?
Not for support. The slats are grouped in sets of four and flex under body weight to contour to the back, which is how the chair gets its give. A throw cushion is a comfort preference, not a fix.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. Greenington's care guidance for bamboo furniture is indoor use — keep it out of direct sunlight, away from heat vents, and at 40 to 55 percent relative humidity.
What is the seat made from?
Solid Moso bamboo throughout, with no upholstery, foam, or metal in the seat. The frame carries a hand-applied Black Walnut finish and the slats stay in the lighter Wheat tone.
