Arc Coffee Table
Ditte Vad and Julie Begtrup designed the Arc coffee table for WOUD around a top you turn with one finger: swing it open to reach the storage beneath, or close it over the clutter.
This is the large Arc, 35 in (89 cm) across and 15 in (38 cm) high, in black painted ash veneer on three solid ash legs. Under the rotating upper lid is a storage well lined with smooth nanolaminate, with a dark grey bottom surface, so remotes, magazines and chargers disappear in one move. It is made in Latvia for the Danish design house WOUD, which also sells replacement Arc legs.

Common Questions
How does the rotating top work?
The upper lid turns with one finger. Leave it open to keep favorite objects on display, or close it to hide what sits in the storage well below, which is lined with smooth nanolaminate.
Does it need assembly?
Briefly. The table ships in a 37 x 37 x 7.3 in box, well under its assembled 15 in height, and WOUD publishes assembly instructions for Arc. WOUD also sells replacement Arc legs if one is ever damaged.
How do I protect the black painted finish?
Use coasters and wipe spills quickly. WOUD notes that painted and lacquered wood is vulnerable to heat, alcohol and moisture, and that the finish takes about four weeks to fully harden, so treat it gently at first.
